GLENN R. BUTTERMANN, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.O.S.

Known worldwide for his extensive research and published peer-reviewed journal articles, Dr. Buttermann devotes significant time to basic science and clinical research activities. He specializes in youth and adult scoliosis and complex deformity evaluation and surgery, as well as minimally invasive spinal procedures.

Special interests include disc replacement and motion preservation for degenerative, trauma, and deformity conditions. He holds multiple patents related to motion preservation devices.

Dr. Buttermann earned his Medical Degree from the Mayo Medical School, Rochester, MN, after completing a Masters of Science degree in Engineering (bioengineering) at the University of California, San Diego. He completed a Surgical internship at the University of Chicago, followed by a Biomechanics fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery and an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of MN. His Spine Surgery fellowship was performed at the University of California, San Francisco.
