Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation: Epidural Steroid Injection Compared with Discectomy
Discectomy involves removing part of an intervertebral disc. Most often, a laminotomy will be performed prior to the discectomy allowing your physician to freely view the disc. The part of the disc that is herniated and any loose pieces of the disc within the disc space will be removed.
