JAMES
Procedure: Cervical Fusion
What was your initial medical issue?
I had a cervical fusion C5-6 in 2002 by another surgeon that did not provide long-term pain relief. In 2018 I had surgery to remove the hardware from the previous cervical fusion and an anterior cervical decompression with a fusion C4-5. A few months later, I returned to Dr. Sinicropi with neck pain radiating through my left shoulder to my hand. Dr. Sinicropi recommended an anterior cervical decompression and fusion C6-T1 that was done on 3/1/19. A few weeks after that, I returned to Dr. Sinicropi and reported numbness in the neck and left shoulder radiating to the left upper extremity and left 5th digit since surgical intervention. Dr. Sinicropi recommended C6-T1 posterior cervical fusion and decompression C7-T1. Two weeks after that procedure I had stopped taking Oxycodone and began taking Tylenol for pain. I am absolutely thrilled with the surgeries I had done at Midwest Spine.
What did these issues prevent you from doing?
I couldn’t do anything. I basically just stayed at home.
What made you decide to do something about your problem?
The pain and numbness got so bad I couldn’t do anything.
Why did you choose Dr. Sinicropi?
I found Dr. Sinicropi via Facebook, and his team got back to me right away after I reached out.
What treatment/procedure did you have done?
Cervical Fusion.
How did you feel after treatment?
After the final surgery, the numbness went away. The muscles and nerves are still recovering, but other than that I feel great!
What advice would you give other patients in a similar situation to you?
Anyone who needs neck surgery needs to go to Dr. Sinicropi and his team. The whole team communicated really well. They really care about their patients. I had an amazing experience. I’ve never had a team of medical professionals who cared so much about me. Dr. Sinicropi is the number 1 surgeon in the world! They never gave up on me. They cared about me every step of the way.
